Slatted console table

The clients who commissioned this console table for their entryway wanted something "unique", but that would also blend well with other contemporary furniture pieces located nearby. They were delighted by the final result, confident that they've never seen another piece quite like it ever before.

Bench with leather seat

This bench was designed for an entryway in a busy home, where it will be used many times every day. This drove the decision to line the seat in leather, which will age gracefully over many years and resist scratches and dents that would otherwise be inevitable on such a high-traffic surface.

Hidden wine cellar

Hidden behind a slat wall, this custom wine cellar blends traditional and contemporary design elements to achieve a truly unique look and feel.

The middle shelf runs the full width of the unit, creating a focal point to display special bottles under the glow of integrated LED lighting. The rest of the unit provides different types of storage for different purposes: "X" racks for longer-term storage, horizontal racks for easy access, and open shelves for cases and larger bottles. Despite the relatively small footprint, there's capacity for over 300 bottles.

Trio of small stools

These stools use mortise & tenon joinery, which is highlighted by the slight protrusion of two tenons through the top surface. Each stool is made from a different species of wood, and each one received a different type of finish to highlight its unique features.

The black stool was wire-brushed and then dyed black to accentuate the coarse grain that's characteristic of Ash. The Walnut and Oak stools were each finished with different oil/wax blends to highlight their distinct grain patterns and color tones.

Floating media console

Designed for a small den, this floating media console is divided into three asymmetrical sections. The enclosed cabinet section features a door that's held in the 'closed' position with invisible magnets. The positioning of the magnets was carefully calibrated so it can be opened with a gentle pull on the door's integrated handle with just one or two fingers.

Camera storage cube

This piece was built to store a vintage camera collector's most precious camera, a Hasselblad 500CM. The box is a perfect cube comprised of an upper section for the camera itself with an accessory drawer below. The interior surfaces are lined in leather, and the lid lifts open on mirror-polished solid brass hinges.

The solid black walnut lid features a natural live edge at one of the front corners as a subtle break from the rigidity of the overall design.
